Forums associated with your site’s niche are highly useful as a marketing tool. Interact with community on these forums by replying to threads, answering queries, offering advices. This builds online reputation. “Do-Follow” Forums are better as you can include your website link within your sign.
Submission to search engines
It takes time for search engines to find your website. So, for rapid marketing, you can submit your website to search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.
Submission to web directories
Submitting website to web directories increases the number of visitors. The success depends on the selection of directories. For utmost benefit submit to niche directories rather than general directories.
Submission to bookmarking sites
Submit your blog posts to the bookmarking sites such as StumbleUpon, Digg, Delicious or Reddit. Search engines prefer these sites as their content is updated often. But be careful while handling the tags that are important for publicizing your news in a wider network.
Link baiting
Allow other content producers to link to unique content on your website and similarly when copying another website’s content, remember to reference it. This will increase the number of inbound links to your content and enhance the performance of your website in search engine results.
Share images
In case you use any of your own images on your website, share them on other major image sharing websites like Flickr, Picasa, and Photo Bucket. Many people will see those and comment on them, giving them a reason to visit your website.
Video sharing
Like image sharing, you can also share the videos used on your website through sites like YouTube or Vimeo.
Write business reviews
Write business reviews for others and ask them to write them for you in sites like RateitAll, Shvoong, Kaboodle or Stylefeeder.
Use local directories
Based on your website’s niche, local directories like Google Local, Maps, Yahoo Local or Yellow Pages can be used for promotion.
Submission of articles
Submit your own written articles to famous article directory sites like Ezine, Go Articles or Now Public. This will enhance the traffic to your website.
Submission to online shopping networks
In case of an e-commerce website, advertise your products for free by submitting them to online shopping networks such as Google Product Search, Yahoo Online Shopping or MSN Online Shopping. This will enhance the chances of people to discover your products.
Answer queries
Answer queries on websites like Yahoo Answers. Using question and answer technique related to your niche can repute you as an expert. You can further mention the link to your website in the sources sections to enhance the number of visitors to your website.
